We have a current Part Time vacancy for an individual to assist us locally with Pet Care, Cleaning and associated services. The following information is provided to give prospective applicants sufficient details to decide whether the position would be suitable for them before applying.
Dogmovers is a small family business based in QLD, with an additional depot at Morisset, Lake Macquarie, NSW. We transport pets, primarily Dogs & Cats, throughout Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia. We operate similarly to a long distance bus service with a number of set weekly trips operated to a regular timetable plus we provide more Specialised Custom services on demand and locally.
We are seeking to employ a local person to support our Interstate Drivers with the care of animals that stay with us overnight during their interstate trips and to undertake cleaning of animal facilities, vehicles and trailers. The majority of the work will be cleaning but preference will be given to applicants also willing and able to assist with local deliveries including into Sydney and who are able to be flexible with their work hours, including occasional evening work.
This role is available for immediate start and would suit an individual that is already involved in the Pet Care industry such as a Kennel Hand, Pet sitter, walker or groomer or someone with Animal Care training. The successful applicant will require an open Drivers licence, preferably the ability to drive Manual vans and their own transport to get to and from work.
Hours and Remuneration
This is a Casual – Part Time position which will involve around 20 regular hours per week plus additional work on demand. The role requires both some early morning and evening work, approximately once per week, typically on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings each week. While we have some flexibility for the hours of work on other days the successful applicant would need to be available at those times. Weekend work is not typically required but may be available on occasion.
For the right person with appropriate driving experience and flexibility of hours there would be the opportunity for additional hours with opportunities to be also involved in local or regional Pet delivery services.
Remuneration is expected to be $27-30 per hour, plus Super, based on age & experience for an Animal attendant.
Animal Care
The Animal care aspect of the role involves caring for animals staying overnight on site during their interstate trips. This may require morning and evening work approximately once per week and includes walking feeding and monitoring the health of dogs, cats and other animals and cleaning and disinfection of cages and equipment.
Driving
A Driving licence and driving experience is required as the successful applicant will move vehicles around the property and may assist with delivery of vehicles or trailers to local maintenance workshops. For the right applicant there will be additionall opportunities to back up our interstate drivers for any local deliveries and to do occasional local or regional Pet Taxi work. We have a range of vehicles, typically these are Commercial Vans and may involve towing small to medium dog floats.
The role will require working closely with Interstate Drivers and other staff at the local depot.
We will consider everyone on their merits however in general we are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- A Caring, Service Orientated individual.
- Experienced in working with domestic animals including care, cleaning, feeding and hygiene.
- Living locally near Morisset.
- An honest and reliable person with a strong work ethic.
- A Manual Drivers licence is preferred.
- Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends on occasion plus school holidays and public holidays.
